FatCow Ive been getting annoying recurring messages in my YM from names who apparently didnt send them so I scanned my PC. Day after, I learned that my comp has been infected with a termex.fatcow VIRUS. My macAfee says it “cannot be cleaned” so I just quarantined it. I am wary of “removing” the mentioned file coz I am not sure which file it is, or my if it would make my computer work erroneously if that particular file is removed. Is there any way for me to REMOVE this virus (since my YM still gets those annoying YM messages that dont make sense)? How do I address the problem? Doesn’t quarantining the file suffice? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Good day. If u kno d name of the file that is infected. Manually delete it. If you cant, boot safe mode. Restart computer, Click F8 before u see the xp logo and the blue blocks running across the screen. Log on, go to the file and delete it. It sounds the file has infected a system file for yur yahoo messenger. If the file is part of yahoo messenger, no harm done to XP Altogether. Delete the file, uninstall Yahoo messenger and reinstall. In case of the worse case scenario, please back up yur files on a Cd or USB Pen/Stick drive so if XP crashes as a whole, yur important information is saved. Laterz.

Well, it could be that you need a diiferent security system, I suggest Norton Antivirus.
But otheriwise try anything like Search and Destroy, the free version of AVG, and of course there’s praying to god.
